Read how we have helped the community

The Redcliffs Public Library Inc has been a grateful recipient of donations from the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation which have enabled us to fund our Centennial celebrations and to update children's DVDs for rental. They provide an extremely valuable community service.

President, Redcliffs Public Library Inc.

Our Club faced many challenges by the devastating earthquakes over the past four years, and many unexpected expenses.

The financial support of the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation was crucial to our survival as the Sumner Bridge Club. The Sumner Ferrymead Foundation has acted as a "force-multiplier" allowing us to continue our robust bridge programme, and at the same time allowing other Sumner organisations affected by the earthquakes, to share our facility. It has been a WIN-WIN for all Sumner community, and we thank you for your generous support.

The Sumner Ferrymead Foundation helped me to get a four-wheeled, double scooter called a "Slida" which helped me get around the village, and I am very grateful to them. I have outgrown it now, but it has been passed on to Parafed for younger children to use.

The support of the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation has been helpful to me as a piper in the St Andrew's College Pipe Band to compete at the highest level. I became Pipe Major in 2014 and in 2013, the band became the juvenile champions at the World Championships in Glasgow - the first time a NZ pipe band has won a world champs at any level. I am very grateful to the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation for its generous support.

Without the support from local organisations, such as the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation it would be very difficult to run our club, the Sumner Cricket club has appreciated the support of the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation which has helped us to purchase junior grade playing equipment, "Baggy" caps for the senior squad and a large pavilion clock. Without the support from local organisations, such as the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation it would be very difficult to run our club.

I was incredibly fortunate to receive financial support in 2007 from the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation to represent New Zealand at the World Irish Dancing Championship in Glasgow. I had the most amazing experience, being surrounded by extremely talented dancers on a world stage. It was a special "once in a lifetime" experience that I have treasured deeply. Without the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation it would not have become a reality, thus I am forever grateful.

On behalf of the Mt Pleasant School and surrounding community, I would like to sincerely thank the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation for its generous support to the rebuild of our school pool. We are delighted to say that the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation's contribution was allocated to the new changing sheds and enabled us to achieve the opening date on 14 December 2014.

The Sumner Ferrymead Foundation's contribution to my trip with my school jazz band to the Southern Jam Youth Jazz Festival, in Blenheim in August 2014, was greatly appreciated. The wealth of performance opportunities in a variety of different venues was a wonderful musical experience and great fun.
