The best part of the apprenticeship so far has to be my work mates; funny and relatable, just good company to be around. However, when it comes to the worst part, digging holes is always a bit of a drag.

In 5 years time I'm hoping to be looking, if not serving in the NZ Defence Force, most likely as a builder.

During the summer I enjoy surfing, diving or quite frankly anything to do with the sea. And as the water cools down for the winter I am very into my hockey and of course skiing.

What I love about the Sumner Ferrymead community is the connections you have with people. Whether they're an old friend from primary school, or your dad’s friends’ son, everyone knows everyone and it creates a tight yet friendly community.

I am eternally grateful to Laser Plumbing Christchurch East and the Sumner Ferrymead Foundation for this opportunity. This award will help me out now (with the purchase of tools) and will further aid my career. Once again many thanks
